After much struggle, I finally got around to trying this place out. I had attempted to do this before but they were closed. this time, we called ahead and made reservations. I know, smart thinking right? Yeah, I didn’t make them, the wife did. She is the smart one in the family. (904)389-0330 887 Stockton St Jacksonville, FL 32204 Location: In the little strip that has a tattoo shop, bike shop and one of my favorites, Bold Bean. Food: Let me just say a couple of things first, before I break down my thoughts on the food. If you go to their website:13 Gypsies you will see that it looks like something off of an Ed Hardy shirt. So, there’s that. Then, up on a wall they have a signed picture of Guy Fieri. Maybe they need to do some updates on what is good and what the current trend is. So, if you can get past the initial visuals when you sit down, the food is good. Not outstanding or anything, but decent. We started with the Roman Gnocchi $8 (Description: The Original Gnocchi. Semolina and Parmesan Flats, served with a Mushroom Sauce). This was pretty good, it ended [...]

If I could be a Chef, I would want to be Chef Bourdain

If you know me, you know that I’m pretty straight forward with a healthy dose of sarcasm. While I know that I could never be a chef (I can barely take people reading these blogs, I could never have people judge my lack of cooking abilities), if I ever had the opportunity the hang with a chef, it would definitely be Chef Bourdain. This guy doesn’t care what anyone thinks and just tells it like it is. He isn’t Chef Ramsey, that guy is an over the top a**hole. I hear Chef Bourdain’s show is a little like a Henry Rollins spoke words. He lay’s it out there and brings the humor in with it. To see how Chef Bourdain is, check out this clip from an episode of Archer that he was on. He killed it: Come hang out with Anthony Bourdain this Thursday, April 25th, at 7:30pm at the Times-Union Center’s Moran Theater. There are still tickets available in the $40-$75 range. Just go to www.artistseriesjax.org or call 442-2929. Come back and leave a comment after the show and let me know what you thought.

Go here…just go! That about sums up my review. If you want more details on what is now my favorite place to get breakfast, then read on my friend, read on. Here is a quick video montage of my Restaurant Review (I don’t post all the pics in the review itself): (904) 398-1004 2004 San Marco Blvd. Jacksonville, FL. 32207 Location: San Marco Square by 1st Place Running and The Loop. The Food: I’m just going to put it out there right now. I want their gravy in an IV bag please. I’m what you might call, a biscuit and gravy snob. So far, I judged everyone’s biscuits and gravy against my wife’s. My wife’s upbringing in Louisiana has lead to her awesome fusion of Cajun and Southern all into her awesome biscuits and gravy. Well, Tiffany, you are on notice. Maple Street Biscuit Company has thrown down the gauntlet. They have walked up to you and slapped you in the face with a white glove. To be honest, I don’t know who to back on this one. After my son’s soccer game on a Saturday, me and the family headed over to this new local restaurant to see what [...]
