Once again, we decided to use a Teal Deal before they all expire in February. As you can see, this is my second Jacksonville Landing restaurant review in a row. It was 75 degrees at night in the middle of January…WHAT?!?!? I bet all the people up north hate us right now. Oh well, get over it!
Location: Koja Sushi is located upstairs right along the water. If you are facing the water, it is up and to your left. Down below is the view we had from our table outside. Hard to beat that view. Of course it goes without saying that the downside to anything at The Landing is the parking. The Symphony had an event so all the parking was bumped up to $15. Not this guy, I found on street parking eventually.
Interior: Sorry, I don’t have much on this. We went straight outside and sat down. My fault. As you will see from the review, I will be going back so I will update the interior. Outside was just the basic metal table and chairs, plenty of seating along the water.
Cost: For a Pepsi, 2 mixed drinks, 2 sushi rolls and 2 entrees it cost $61.97 for some great Sushi which is hard to find in Jacksonville, Florida.
Food: The wife got two mixed drinks (her night to let loose a little). She got the Godzilla (Stereotype much?) and the Buddha for $7.50ea. Both drinks were decent sized and the wife loved them. I got the Spicy Chicken Box and she got the regular Chicken Box for $12.95ea. Pretty much tasted like bourbon chicken. It was HOT! (Temperature, not spice). As you can see from the picture, it was a decent amount of food too! Great value. I really liked the spicy/pickled cabbage side. We didn’t really care for the hash brown type thing and the fried crab cake (not fresh, probably frozen). Then we got a couple sushi rolls. We got a Toni and Stacey Roll for $7.95 ea. Both were fried and great but probably will get non-fried next time to enjoy the flavors better.
Overall Cost: $61.97 but TONS OF LEFTOVERS!
Overall Rating 1-10: 8.5
Would I eat here again: You betcha! Great value and food. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t “desire” sushi that often but I already want to go back. Fix the parking at The Landing and this Jacksonville Sushi place will take off!
