All the bacon goodness that we had on WQIK 99.1 The Big Show!
Leave a comment below on what you like your bacon on the most and you can win a $25 gift card to Cinotti’s Bakery and try some of these awesome Bacon Donuts out…or something else if you want! I will pick one person at random from the comments on Wednesday night. Pretty good odds!
Who doesn’t like bacon right? Oh, you in the back with your hand raised…yes…you sir…what is wrong with you? I’m just kidding lol. Seriously though, I don’t think I have ever met anyone that didn’t like bacon. If you are one of “those” people, leave me a comment, I’m interested in knowing if there are people out there that don’t.
So, today the main focus was bacon. Me being the average guy, that means I love a good pound or two of bacon every once in a while haha. I told Toni that one of my favorite “you have to try this” things right now is the Bacon Donut from Cinotti’s Bakery (Cinotti’s Bakery Restaurant Review) Now, I know that sweet stuff and bacon isn’t for everyone, but if you are true bacon fan, you have to stop by and try this thing out. But if Bacon Donuts aren’t your thing, Cinotti’s Bakery has a ton of other delicious stuff. Oh, they have best King Cakes (It’s a Louisiana thing) in town too. The best thing, they are local, they are good, and the owners are really cool and want the customer to have a good dining experience. Here are some pics of these delicious Bacon Donuts:
Next up, the Bacon Sundae from Burger King
As you know, I don’t usually review chain restaurants. Chances are that if I have done a review of a chain restaurant, it is because it was a train wreck. Occasionally, a chain will throw everyone a curve ball and offer something that I just have to try…you know…just so I can report back if it is bad or not…right?!?! A couple months ago Taco Bell came out with the Dorito Taco, yep…I tried it (Taco Bell Dorito Locos Review). So, when I saw the commercials for the Bacon Sundae, I knew I was going to have try it.
First off, let me say that the sundae was bigger in portion size than I expected. It was $2.99 and for some reason I was thinking it would come in that tiny little thing that McDonald’s serves their sundaes in. Nope, this was pretty big actually. Probably about twice as big as the McDonald’s serving size. So, all things considered, good portion size for the price…it made me feel better about the $3 bucks I spent on it. It’s a regular sundae, soft serve vanilla ice cream, hot chocolate and hot caramel. The only difference, they put about 6 separate 1″ pieces of bacon on it. Probably what equals to one strip of bacon. And like I said, they are about an inch each so if you end up not liking the combination, it’s easy to either take them out or you can eat around them. Now, on to the taste verdict…I liked it! It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. I think it was worth the $3 bucks, so if you are the kind of person who likes to drag their bacon through their pancake syrup, this is probably right up your alley. But if you are stuck on what people might think or whatever, just skip it, the world won’t end right? Oh, yeah, it might….just try the damn thing will ya?!?!? If you have tried it, leave a comment and let me know what you thought. Feed back is always appreciated
Below are the pics of the Bacon Sundae from Burger King.

I love bacon on just about anything.. chocolate bacon is the best!!! Never had a bacon doughnut though, will diffently have to try that one…
Love lil smokies or bite size pieces of hot dogs wrapped in bacon, then drizzled with brown sugar and baked in the oven, Delish!!!
On my loaded potato! Actually had that for dinner last night. Yummm!
I love bacon on cheese!!! Yummy. Hope I win! P
OMG, when I first discovered Bacon as a dessert, it was the Chocolate covered bacon at Heavenly Chocolates and I was sold, so glad more places are adding this strange combination to their menus. I have tried the Bacon sundae when it first launched and it is to die for. LOVED IT! Have not ever had a Cinotti’s donut, much less a bacon donut. Can’t wait to try!!
Bacon, bacon bacon! I think bacon should be a requirement in finding a mate! LOL…if they don’t like bacon…they aren’t for me! I love bacon as long as it is very CRISPY! There is nothing bacon isn’t good on or in! Although my favorite is just by itselt…I particularly love the good ole’ BLT with EXTRA crispy and EXTRA amount of bacon, bacon, bacon! It is also good when you make waffles to put the bacon inside the waffle mix while it is cooking…let it cook right into the waffle…yummy….
EVERYTHING is better with bacon!!!
Chicken Fried Bacon
I like to put bacon on bacon. The beer in my fridge even has bacon in it.
I make a bacon cocoa dust to rim the glass of my Left Hand Milk Stout beer float and then stick a piece of chocolate covered bacon in my glass to nibble on with the ice cream and beer.
I like to cook bacon in the oven so it doesn’t pop and burn me. :p
I like bacon on salads, and club sandwiches. Never had chocolate bacon, or bacon donuts, not sure how I feel about that.
People always say they love any type of BAAAACON until they come to our shave ice stand and try a sample of our bacon flavor shave ice. It’s more a maple bacon I’d say. But we have had people who either love it but not enough to buy the full version to others who can’t even get it passed their palette! Yes spitting out has happened, but we’re ok w that it’s the thought that counted that one could be so bold to say they love everything baaaaacon!
Bacon on burgers!
I just like bacon on bacon – nice and crispy. That’s not to say I won’t eat it on salad, or in a sandwich (BLT), or covered in chocolate. But on it’s own, it’s still a wondrous thing!
Bacon wrapped filet topped with blu cheese is perfection buuut my friend made these sweet, yummy bacon topped cupcakes that are delicious!
I love bacon wrapped around fresh shrimp, slathered (is that a word??) with Dales sauce. Slide it on a skewer and grill it. It is YUMMY and my Dad makes it the best!
I’m not sure if I have had bacon on anything unusual…but I am willing to try.
Bacon makes everything better! But my favorite is a classic BLT loaded with bacon.
Salads, sandwiches, wrapped around steak or scallops. But there’s nothing like just plain bacon
I love bacon on everything, especially the loaded tater tots at Hooters!!! Fried tots topped with melted cheese, sour cream, scallions, AND BACON. Also, who doesn’t love a chicken Alfredo pizza with bacon on it??? DEAD!!!!
Of course bacon all by its self is amazing. However there is nothing better than thick crispy bacon with fresh from the garden tomatoes, Dukes mayo and crisp lettuce all on delicious, soft bread. The hubby just brought home some Nettle’s bacon (you know, the sausage people) HOMG..Best.Bacon.Ever.
Perhaps I’m a purist, but I like my bacon plain, crispy and lonely. There’s no need for an entourage with bacon. I don’t want bacon accessorized. Naked Bacon. You can’t go wrong with that.
Even a beautiful lady deserves some accessories! Why not bacon? lol
